About Dyes

We carry dyes for both animal and plant fibers, as well as dyes compatible with silk, nylon, rayon and other materials.

MX Reactive Dyes

These dyes are recommended for cotton, silk, rayon, linen & superwash wool. They may be applied at room temperature - no steaming is required for these fibers only. MX dyes are sold singularly in one ounce containers, each ounce is enough to make about 1.5 gallons of dye enough to dye about 3 pounds of fiber.

WashFast Acid Dyes

These dyes are recommended for silk, wool, angora, mohair & nylon. They cannot be used on cottons. Washfast dyes are permanent, washable, and lightfast and all colors are inter-mixable. They are a favorite dye for rug hookers, spinners, knitters and weavers. Washfast dyes are sold singularly except when kitted as noted and each 3 ounce container will make at least 5 gallons of dye, enough to dye about 10 pounds of fiber.
